How is the TOEFL iBT test administered, and how is it structured?
TOEFL iBT Test Structure:
As of July 26, 2023, the TOEFL iBT test consists of four sections, with a shorter duration of approximately 2 hours:
- Reading Comprehension: 20 questions in 35 minutes
- Listening Comprehension: 28 questions in 36 minutes
- Speaking: 4 tasks in 16 minutes
- Writing: 2 tasks in 29 minutes
Scores are reported on a scale from 0 to 120 points.

- TOEIC Listening & Reading Score Certificates are available at IIG Vietnam Hanoi office after five working days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays)
- TOEIC Listening & Reading Score Certificates are available at IIG Vietnam HCM and Da Nang offices, other Test Sites/units after 7 - 10 working days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays)
- TOEIC Speaking & Writing Score Certificates are available at IIG Vietnam Hanoi office is after 16 days
- TOEIC Speaking & Writing Score Certificates are available at IIG Vietnam HCM and Da Nang branches and other Test Sites/units after 3 weeks
- If candidates choose to have their Score Certificates delivered via postal mail, please allow for an additional 3 to 4 working days (Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays excluded) for the delivery.
If candidates are unable to personally collect their Score Certificates, they have the option to designate a friend or family member to do so on their behalf. Here are the steps involved:
1. Prepare a handwritten Letter of Authorization. The Letter of Authorization should contain complete information and bear the signatures of both the authorizer and the authorized individual responsible for receiving the Score Certificates.
2. The authorized representative must present at IIG Vietnam Registration Counter, equipped with their own ID card/Citizen ID card/Passport and the Letter of Authorization in order to obtain the Score Certificates.
For the TOEIC test, there must be a minimum of five working days between the candidate's previous test and the next test, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
