DISCOUNT POLICY FOR ENGLISH TEST FEES AT IIG VIETNAM FOR STUDENTS

To support and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese students to take international standardized English tests, IIG Vietnam offers a special discount on test fees for the TOEIC or TOEFL ITP tests. This policy applies to full-time students currently enrolled in educational institutions at various levels across Vietnam.

I. Eligible tests and candidates:

  1. Eligible tests: TOEIC Listening & Reading, TOEFL ITP, TOEIC 4-skill Combo (TOEIC Listening & Reading and TOEIC Speaking & Writing).
  1. Eligible candidates:
  • Students currently enrolled in formal full-time education at middle school, high school, college, or university levels in Vietnam.
  • Students following university transfer or second-degree full-time programs, as verified by a valid student ID or student verification letter.
  • Vietnamese students are currently enrolling at overseas educational institutions.
  1. Validity Period: Students must present a valid student ID card or student verification letter that is still valid on the test date.

II. Ineligible cases

Candidates not eligible for the student discount include:

1. Graduate students, postgraduate students, part-time students (in-service training), distance learners, online learners, those following a university transfer, or second-degree programs that are not officially recognized as full-time.

2. Full-time students who do not have a student ID or cannot provide a verification letter from their institution.

3. International students studying abroad or participating in exchange programs in Vietnam.


III. Requirements for a Valid Student ID Card or Student Verification Letter

To be eligible for the student discount, the Student ID card or verification letter must meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Information and Condition:
  • Must clearly display the student’s information and stamp from the institution.
  • Must not be altered, corrected, or tampered with in any way (e.g., photos, full name, date of birth, class, cohort year, expiring date, etc.).
  • Must be intact - not torn, cracked, or broken.
  • The personal information on the Student ID must match exactly with the information provided during test registration.
  1. Validity Period:

The Student ID card must show both the starting and ending dates of the validity period.

For the Student ID cards without an expiration date, the following rules apply:

    • Primary, Lower Secondary, and Upper Secondary (Grades 5, 9, 12): Valid until July 31 of the corresponding academic year.
    • College students: Valid until October of the third year.
    • University students: Valid until September of the fourth year.
    • Note: If the Student ID card does not clearly indicate validity dates, candidates must submit a student verification letter from their institution.
  1. Special notes:
  • If the Student ID card does not meet the above criteria, candidates must submit a student verification letter from their institution.
  • If the Student ID is integrated with a bank card, the candidate must still provide a student verification letter from their institution
  • Language requirement: Only Vietnamese or English is accepted. If the candidate is a Vietnamese student studying abroad and the Student ID card is in another language, a certified translation in Vietnamese must be provided.

IV. Guidelines for the Student Verification Letter

  1. A student verification letter is a required substitute document in the following cases:
  • Students who have not yet been issued a student ID card, have lost their card, the card does not indicate a validity period, or the card is expired but the student is still within the eligible age range (as defined in Section I) and has not graduated.
  • Student ID cards are integrated with bank cards.
  • Students enrolled in university transfer or second-degree full-time programs where the ID card does not clearly indicate that the program is full-time.
  1. Required Content and Format:
  • The verification letter must include all of the following:
  • Student’s personal information, major/field of study, type of program (must specify that it is full-time), cohort year, and the reason for issuing the verification letter (e.g., no ID card, lost card, etc.);
  • The validity period of the verification letter;
  • The official stamp of the institution and signature of the authorized representative.
  • The document must be in good condition – not peeled, torn or crushed. All details must be clear with no signs of modification.
  • Note: For verification letters without a stated validity period, IIG Vietnam will consider them valid for 60 days from the date of issue.
